“Current Approaches in Shoulder Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty III” Event 3/30/2021

Bezmiâlem Vakıf University and the Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery in partnership with the third “Current Approaches in Shoulder Arthroscopy and Arthroplasty" event was held online due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Prof. Dr. Kerem Bilsel, Head of Orthopedics and Traumatology Department, and Mustafa Özkan, Head of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Association, carried out the opening speech at the event, which took place on Saturday, March 27.

In the first session of the program organized with live surgery, a live case presentation of "Arthroscopic Repair in Massive Rotator Cuff Tear" was carried out. In the session moderated by Mustafa Özkan, the live surgery team was Ata Can Atalar and Onur Tunalı. In the second session, "Superior Capsular Reconstruction" continued with a live case presentation. In the session moderated by Mehmet Armangil, Ali Erşen and Koray Şahin performed the surgery as a surgical team. Afterwards, Santa Farma, one of the event sponsors, held a presentation called “360 degrees in Pain Management."

In the third session, the activity continued with the "Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty" case presentation. In the session moderated by Gari Huri, Mustafa Özkan and Mehmet Kapıcıoğlu completed the live surgery as a surgical team from the operating room.

"Menarini Satellite Symposium Topical and Systemic Analgesic, Anti-inflammatory Solutions" was completed with the speech of our Head of Orthopedics and Traumatology Department Prof. Dr. Kerem Bilsel. Cuff Surgery (Superior Capsular Reconstruction with Biceps Long Head) continued with a case report. It continued with the session titled “Surgery from Cuff (Arthrostopic Rotator Cuff Repair-Technical Tips for Massive Tear." In the session moderated by Prof. Dr.Kerem Bilsel, Mehmet Armangil was the presenter.

In the last session of the event, a case presentation of Cuff Surgery 'Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty in Massive Rotator Cuff Tear and Stemless Options' was carried out. Gazi Huri was the host of the session, which was moderated by Arel Gereli.

After the completion of case discussions with 4 live surgeries and 4 tapes of surgical videos, which were successfully performed on the virtual platform, the program ended with the closing session.
