The International Day of Women and Girls in Science, proclaimed by the United Nations to encourage the participation of women and girls in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and research, was celebrated at our university with a special event.
Organized by our Institute of Health Sciences, the breakfast event brought together researchers from our university and hospital at the Life Sciences and Biotechnology Institute on our Beykoz Campus. Discussions focused on the role of women in science, their achievements, and the importance of equal opportunities in the field.
The event honored the contributions of women to science and explored ways to further encourage their participation in STEM fields. Participants shared their insights on fostering gender equality in scientific research and supporting women researchers.
Simultaneously celebrated with various events around the world, this meaningful day served as an opportunity to raise awareness and empower women in shaping the future of science.
