Prof. Dr. Cengiz Köksal of the Cardiovascular Surgery Department academicians, was granted the "Doctor of the Year" award at the 4th Health Management Congress İbni Sina Law Medicine 1000th Year Awards".
Prof. Dr. Cengiz Köksal was awarded this prize for being the first Turkish surgeon to perform an open heart mitral valve repair closed up without stopping the heart.
Prof. Dr. Cengiz Köksal, who joined the Bezmialem family in 2017, has performed over 2000 open heart and vascular operations to date. Prof. Dr. Cengiz Köksal, who has organized international meetings under the name of "Valvular Repair Workshop" in 2012-2013, has studied and worked on mitral valve repair, mitral valve repair by mini incision, and mitral valve repair without opening the thoracic cage, in many countries abroad in 2012-2015.
Prof. Dr. Cengiz Koksal, is the one and only practicing trainer who carries out mitral valve repairs done without stopping the heart and attaching it to the heart-lung machine, in Turkey.
Prof. Dr. Cengiz Köksal, who continues to work successfully in our Dragos hospital has 65 scientific articles in foreign magazines and 70 scientific articles in domestic magazines.
