The first National Nursing Students' Journey to Science congress was held at the Erich Frank Conference Hall with an active participation.
Our Assistant Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Tuncay, General Secretary Zeynep Gökçen, Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Dilek Sema Arıcı, Faculty of Health Sciences Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Rahmi Zeybek our executives, 227 academicians and students from 20 different cities participated in the ceremony which lasted for two days.
At the "1st National Nursing Students' Science Journey Congress" which began with the National Anthem and stand in silence, our Assistant Rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Tuncay carried out his opening speech as such ; "As Bezmialem Vakıf University, we greatly value this profession as an institution that always realizes the importance of nurses with its deep-rooted tradition. Bezmiâlem Vakıf Gureba-i Müslimin Hospital, one of the most modern hospitals of its period, supported the establishment of nursing schools by understanding that there is a need for trained nurses in the Republican period.
In 2010, the institution was transformed into Bezmialem Vakıf University, and today it continues to meet the requirements of the health sector by training well-equipped nurses. At our Bezmialem Vakıf University Faculty of Medicine Hospital, Dragos Hospital and other campuses, it is a source of pride for us to have students among us who have graduated as nurses who fulfill this sacred profession. As universities that give importance to education, research and human investment, we work together to help nurses develop themselves, catch up on the developments in medicine, and to monitor the changes and developments in the world.
I would like to express my gratitude to each and every one of our valuable academicians, nurses and students for their efforts, who will continue to carry out projects that will make a difference in the field of health in our country. I would also like to mention our precious guests who enrich our congress with their participation. I would also like to thank our esteemed academicians who will share their vast knowledge with us and the nursing department students who will be carrying out their presentations."
Faculty of Health Sciences Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Rahmi Zeybek who began their speech by thanking our Department of Nursing Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Anayit Çoşkun, who had great contributions in planning and carrying out the congress and our nursing students, continued as; "I would like to state that I am very pleased to be at this Nursing Student Congress, the first of which was ever held, together with our esteemed students who are a member of the Bezmialem family, academicians and our precious guests.
At the Nursing department, as with our other departments in our Faculty of Health Sciences, we are proceeding with the right and confident steps in raising health professionals who are fully equipped, researchers, and are able to carry out scientific thoughts and scientific applications. I would like to express my respects to the valuable participants who enrich our congress with their participation and I would like to thank you for your presentations."
The 1st National Nursing Students' Journey to Science Congress, where scientific sessions took place on different topics, ended with the awarding of students for their poster presentations, followed by certificate presentations and a photoshoot.
