Bezmialem Vakıf University achieved a major success at the 10th World Academic Emergency Medicine Congress held in Rome, Italy, from November 6-8, 2024. The university's Department of Emergency Medicine, led by Prof. Dr. Başar Cander and with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahadır Taşlıdere, received the first-place award in the oral presentations category.
The study, titled "Evaluation of Diuretic Treatment Response in Patients with Pulmonary Edema in the Emergency Department Using the Ters-FALLS Protocol," was recognized by the scientific committee of the congress. The research introduced an innovative approach to monitoring diuretic treatment in patients with pulmonary edema using ultrasonography and the Ters-FALLS protocol.
Throughout the congress, this valuable work was highlighted by the WACEM24 scientific committee as the most distinguished presentation. Additionally, the full presentation has been requested for publication in a high-impact journal partnered with WACEM24.
