After the Second World War, most of the wounded suffered head trauma, acoustic trauma and injuries. The consequences of these injuries have been significant in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with numerous hearing and speech-language problems. At the end of the war years, this need led to the birth of a new professional group from 1945 to 1950. Initially, undergraduate schools were established in the United States to train professional professionals in this field. The audiologist and speech therapist (Audiologist & Speech Pathologist) are independent professions in the multidisciplinary studies of the Ear Nose and Throat, especially Neurology, Plastic Surgery, Child Psychiatry and Psychiatry. Today, more than 40,000 members of the profession in the United States are involved in the medical services as well as the academic staff of the universities.Fort he first time in Turkey, an audiology student at Hacettepe University in 1967, received the master's program and has started to train experts in this field. In the course of the process, education in the field of Audiology and Speech Disorders continued in 1987 due to the need for speech impairment and the lack of an educational institution. Today, there are still masters and doctoral degrees at Hacettepe and Marmara Universities, and postgraduate studies at Dokuz Eylül, Çukurova, Gazi and Ondokuz Mayıs Universities. The number of people who have graduated from this program are relatively limited when Turkey needs considered. In 2011, audiology undergraduate program education and training started at the Faculty of Health Sciences of Istanbul University. In 2012, Audiology Departments have been opened in Bezmialem Vakıf University, Turgut Özal University, İnönü University and Hacettepe University. In 2013, audiology departments were opened in İstanbul Aydın and İstanbul Gelişim University.
