The Institute of Life Sciences and Biotechnology is a R&D focused research institute with world-class academic staff in the fields of Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. The Institute continues its studies in order to produce information for the benefit of humanity in the fields of health and biology, to develop new technologies and to produce projects by transferring the developed technologies to the fields of application. The Institute contributes to science in fields such as biological research, clinical research, diagnostic sectors, pharmaceutical and vaccine sectors by realizing ambitious projects in the field of basic sciences such as Biochemistry, Biology and Biotechnology.
The Institute of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, which offers an important opportunity to high school students who want to expand their horizons by opening the doors of science, together with researchers from distinguished universities in the world, especially the United States of America, in the field of basic sciences, is proud to guide the scientists of the future.
Students will enjoy learning and producing information in the program where the theoretical and practical applications that are fundamental in the fields of Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology will be carried out together in the Summer High School, which will be held for 10 days between June 13 – 24, 2022. Students who have the opportunity to practice in laboratories equipped with the most technologically advanced devices will have the opportunity to experience their contribution to science concretely.
As Beykoz Institute, which brings together students who want to experience what it means to be a university student during their high school years, under the roof of Bezmialem Vakıf University, we are ambitiously waiting for you, our dear students.
Students Attending the Course:
- Reaching the basic level of knowledge in the fields of Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology,
- Comprehend the basic characteristics of research on subjects such as genetic studies, cancer treatment research, microbiology,
- By understanding what it means to design research in basic sciences, they will gain valuable experiences which they can use while guiding their professional life.
- They will be gaining social experiences through activities such as Bocce Game, Darts, Live Music Concert, Kareoke, Sports Activities (Table tennis, volleyball, etc.), Signal, Minesweeper, (Team Games), Mind Games, Chess, Mangala, Matrak which will take place all day on Saturday, June 18th.
What the Beykoz Institute of Life Sciences and Biotechnology means to high school students participating in this program;
- Breathing the atmosphere of a campus in a historical place, intertwined with nature,
- Taking courses in English from foreign academics who have completed their education at leading universities abroad,
- Working in laboratories equipped with the latest technology,
- Being provided the opportunity to observe the progress of ongoing TÜBİTAK projects.
- At the end of the course, students will be given a certificate of attendance.
Transportation and Catering:
The course program is free, and 2000 TL will be paid for food, transportation and laboratory consumables.
- Lunch will be served in the Institute cafeteria.
- During the course, the bus service between Vatan Campus and Beykoz Campus at 08:30 and 16:30 can be used.
- Students are not offered accommodation.

Terms of Application:
- All high school students can participate in the program.
- Name, surname, school-class, mobile number, e-mail section should be filled in the application form, transcript, letter of intent and reference letter should be attached.
- The quota is 16 people.
- After the accepted student pays the 2000 TL fee, the registration is finalized.
