Instructions on Observership Program

 Application for International Individuals

Bezmialem Vakif University, Faculty of Dentistry (BVUDentistry) welcomes visiting colleagues and students around the world for research and educational collaboration, observation and study.

A visitor is an individual who, though uncompensated by BVUDentistry, is given access to BVUDentistry property, facilities and-or information systems, at the discretion of BVUDentistry, for a specific period of time for collaborative or educational purposes. Some visitors do not perform any patient care. Visitors are not entitled to wages or benefits.

There are 3 categories of visitors in Bezmialem Vakif University: Observer, Mastership Trainee and Doctorate (PhD) Trainee.

Observership: 

• Observer is a visitor who holds an undergraduate, higher degree or undergraduate student degree in dentistry.
• They can observe BVUDentistry applications and operations for educational or training purposes that primarily benefit the visitor.
• The observer may watch clinical practices, participate in or perform research, data collection or other hands-on activities but may not provide clinical care.
• The length of the observation period is limited to no more than three months in any one department. Observers are not registered and enrolled in an official course at BVUDentistry.
• In 2014, Observership fee is 500 $ monthly. For updated Tuition and fees for observership, please send e-mail. 

In addition, please note:

• It is the responsibility of non-Turkish citizens to have a visa appropriate for the visitor category they are applying for. 
• Any observer participating in human subjects or animal research must hold the applicable BVUDentistry training certificates or prove their own certificates.

• It is mandatory that all applicants submit the health forms or reports fully completed and signed (including English translations).

• BVUDentistry may charge separate fees to participate in their visitor programs.

• The education period (semester) starts in September or February each year.  Please apply for the programmes at least 6 weeks prior to arrival date.

• A non-refundable 200$ USD application fee is required for all applications. The fee must be paid with the application in order to process the application. Do not send personal check or c ash.

1. Completed application form and application fee receipt 
2. Curriculum Vitae / Resu​me
3. Copy of identification card (government issue ID) and passport
4. Copy of dental school transcript/graduation degree and letter from dental school indicating enrollment status (in English)
5. Two Professional reference/recommendation letters
6. Health forms or report and immunization record (in English Language and signed)
