Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Öztürk discussed precautions taken against decubitus ulcer and treatment processes applied at our hospital. Speaking after Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Özgürk, our Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rümeyza Kazancıoğlu said, ‘Many diseases today cause many problems to patients even if they are curable. Decubitus ulcers can be prevented with suitable precautions but they are still highly experienced both in our country and in the world. Therefore, this Approaches to Decubitus Ulcer Symposium organized by you, our professors is important for speeding up the diagnosis and treatment process of this disease.’ Our Chancellor also thanked the academics who organized the event.
Speaking at the symposium, our Hospital General Coordinator Prof. Dr. Adem Akçakaya said, ‘We have performed many studies towards decubitus ulcer within the last year. We have diagnosed 29 patients in Intensive Care and 26 patients at services within the last six months with decubitus ulcer. We also cured patients who have applied to us with decubitus ulcer. Our aim is to minimize decubitus ulcers at our hospitals.'
4 sessions took place at the symposium where issues including Preventive Approaches to Decubitus Ulcer, Sore Treatment Organization and Targets and Why Decubitus Ulcer were discussed.
