Our rector Prof. Dr. Rümeyza Kazancıoğlu who carried out the course opening speech stated ; "Pressure injuries must be checked in order to make sure that our patients who undergo treatment at the hospital can be discharged much earlier. There are interesting figures worldwide regarding pressure injuries. I will share these figures with you and our teachers. In the USA pressure injuries even occur in short term inpatients between 3% and and 17%.  What is more important is that this number reaches 50% in patients that are above 65 years of age. When we take a look at our hospitals pressure injurie rates, due to the size of our Pediatric Department this rate ranges around 45%.

While stating that we should handle pressure injuries in a multidisciplinary fashion our rector Prof. Dr. Rümeyza Kazancıoğlu continues ; "As a hospital we are struggling with pressure injuries, and controlling them is our duty. Besides , it must also be the responsibilities of the patient and the patients relatives, not just the responsibility of the health personnel during pressure injuries. I hope that in taking this course for speedily recovering pressure injury patients you will successfully complete this course. I thank all of my teachers who have contributed and wish success."

The course came to an end with 35 attendees receiving their participation certificates from their instructors.
