Tomb Visit
Bezmialem Vakıf Gureba-i Müslimin Hospital founder, Sultan Mahmud II wife and Sultan Abdülmecit's mother Bezmialem Valide Sultan, was commemorated on her death anniversary with events.
In scope of the "Bezmialem Valide Sultan Commemoration week" which Bezmialem Vakıf University is holding , a visit to Bezmialem Valide Sultans tomb , in Çemberlitaş, took place. Bezmialem Vakıf University Board of Trustees member Prof. Dr. Aydın Gülan, Founding Board of Trustees member Av. Ali Cahit Polat, Bezmialem Vakıf University Rector Prof. Dr. Rümeyza Kazancıoğlu, Assistant rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Tuncay, General Secretary Zeynep Gökçen, State railways 1. District Assistant manager Halil Korkmaz, State railways Assistant manager M. Levent Meriçli, Health Sciences faculty dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Belce, İstanbul University History section lecturer Prof. Dr. Arzu Tozduman Terzi, Dentistry dean Prof. Dr. Alper Alkan, Health application and research center Chief doctor Doç. Dr. Fadlullah Aksoy, Vocational high school Head Doç. Dr. Gökçen Başaranoğlu, health personnel and our students attended the visit. After remembering Bezmialem Valide Sultan with prayers, Ashura (dessert) was handed out to the public.

In scope of the "Bezmialem Valide Sultan Commemoration week" the "From Vakıf Gureba to Bezmialem Vakıf University Vakıf Civilization" photograph exhibit was opened.
Bezmialem Vakıf University rector Prof. Dr. Rümeyza Kazancıoğlu, who made comments in scope of the event, mentioned BezmialemValide Sultan's charity tradition , "Bezmialem Vakıf Gureba-i Müslimin Hospital founder, Sultan Mahmud II wife and Sultan Abdülmecit's mother Bezmialem Valide Sultan has taken her place in history as a Valide Sultan who has crossed time. As well as shedding light over the era's civilization, the works of charity she has left us and the charity culture she has consigned to us is the biggest indicator that she still enlightens us and shows us the way. By transforming into Bezmialem Vakıf Univeristy in 2010, Bezmialem Vakıf Gureba-i Müslimin Hospital is continuing to raise health soldiers and offer health services for 172 years and is one of the most precious pieces of Bezmialem Valide Sultans charity culture that has been alive for centuries. It is our most important purpose, as the followers of this consignment, to walk in Bezmialem Valide Sultans path."
Implying the relevence of the donatios the Valide Sultans have carried out in Istanbul, State Railways District assistant manager Halil Korkmaz states , "We are glad to have Bezmialem Valide Sultan commemorated and to have the people of Istanbul witness this."
Gifts were handed out from Bezmialem Vakıf University rector Prof. Dr. Rümeyza Kazancıoğlu to State Railways 1st. District assistant manager Halil Korkmaz, and from assistant rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Tuncay to State Railways District assistant manager M. Levent Meriçli.
