The 3rd Bezmialem Orthopedics Meeting took place on 1 - 2 December under the theme of "Current Approaches in Revision Arthroplasty" with the participation of a great number of local and foreign guests.
Prof. Dr. Javad Parvizi from Thomas Jefferson University, Prof. Dr. Orhun Muratoğlu from Harvard University and Prof. Dr. Joo Han Oh from the National University of Seoul were among the many local and foreign speakers present at the Bezmialem 3rd Orthopedics Meeting , where 220 experts from Turkey and around the world participated. While case presentations were carried out within the scope of the event, workshop applications were performed and theoretical information in orthopedics was shared with participants.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Rümeyza Kazancıoğlu, who carried out the opening speech at the meeeting, stated; "As Bezmialem Vakif University, we closely follow all scientific, technological and social changes in the field of orthopedics in the diagnosis and treatment process. We are conducting scientific research and providing healthcare services with competent academic staff and health personnel who are aware of the relationship between health and quality of life. We implement world-class treatments. The first day of the 3rd Bezmialem Orthopedics Meeting is to be held here today, at our University, and the second day will be held at our Beykoz Institute of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, where we can carry out our recently started research and development studies and scientific researches of our university. Undoubtedly, the presentations of valuable speakers from different countries around the world, as well as our professors, will contribute to each one of us at this congress."
The head of the organizing committee of the event, Bezmialem Vakif University Faculty of Medicine Hospital Head of Orthopedics and Traumatology Department Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Tuncay stated during the event that prosthetic surgery was especially emphasized at the symposium where it was aimed to discuss the current treatment methods in shoulder and knee surgery.
Tuncay, who expressed that the Bezmialem Orthopedics Clinic which is one of the first clinics where surgical interventions such as these were carried out in Turkey, continued as ; "In surgical interventions, our country is far above the European average both in technical and scientific aspects. Many patients from abroad prefer our country and hospital because of our success in orthopedic surgery".
The second day of the symposium was held at the Bezmialem Vakif University Beykoz Institute of Life Sciences and Biotechnology. In the last session carried out under the title of "New Horizons in Arthroplasty", information was given about research and development studies on prosthetic technology and prosthesis.
