Bezmialem was at NAFSA Conference! 6/12/2019

​More than 9,500 international education professionals from around the world attended NAFSA's 71st Annual Conference & Expo in Washington DC., May 28- 31, 2019. On behalf of Bezmialem Vakif University, Prof. Rumeyza KAZANCIOGLU, Rector, Zeynep GOKCEN General Secretary and Sevsen KILIC Manager of International Relations have attended NAFSA for the benefit of internationalization of our university.

NAFSA was founded in 1948 as the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers to promote the professional development. With nearly 10,000 members, NAFSA is the world's largest nonprofit professional association dedicated to higher education. NAFSA is an association of individuals worldwide advancing international education and exchange and global workforce development. NAFSA's Annual Conference & Expo attracts more than 9,000 attendees from 150 countries in May each year and is widely recognized as the world's premier meeting, networking, and learning opportunity for international educators.

NAFSA serves international educators and their institutions by establishing principles of good practice, providing training and professional development opportunities, providing networking opportunities, and advocating for international education.

16 Foundation Universities including Bezmialem from Turkey attended NAFSA and represented Turkey. Furthermore, We have met with Mr. Serdar KILIC, Embassador of Turkey in Washington DC and Mr. Ali CINAR, the President of Turkish Heritage Organization, to discuss more about our programs and to promote reverse brain drain for our Beykoz Institute of Biology and Biotechnology. We are also hosted by our partner Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine during our days in Washington DC. We have met with lots of colleagues and University representatives during Expo and agreed on signing collaboration agreements with 21 universities around the World.
