As part of the "Dream, Discover, Contribute Youth Project" organized by the Directorate General of Foundations (VGM) under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, university students from Kosovo pursuing health education had the opportunity to visit Bezmialem Vakıf University in Istanbul.
During their visit to the Fatih Campus, Kosovar students, accompanied by the International Relations Office, explored the university's historic museum area, modern campus facilities, and advanced educational resources. They expressed great interest and appreciation for Bezmialem Vakıf University's rich history and robust academic infrastructure.
Promoting the Legacy of the Vakıf Civilization for Future Generations
This project, which has been ongoing for four years within the Directorate General of Foundations, aims to familiarize young people from the Balkans with the historical and cultural heritage of the vakıf (foundation) institution. The visit to Bezmialem Vakıf University provided students with a meaningful experience as part of this cultural journey.
Kosovar university student Arlinda Shatri expressed her appreciation for being in Istanbul as a guest of the Directorate General of Foundations: “This project offers us a unique opportunity to see vakıf monuments and learn about them. We are gaining invaluable insights from these visits in Istanbul, and Bezmialem Vakıf University's rich history and offerings have been a significant highlight of this cultural journey," she said.
As part of the program, Kosovar students also visited prominent vakıf sites such as the Bezmialem Valide Sultan and Sultan Ahmet complexes, as well as important landmarks like Hagia Sophia, Süleymaniye Mosque, and Mihrimah Sultan Mosque. These visits across Turkey are anticipated to deepen students' awareness and appreciation of the vakıf culture and its historical significance.
