Application procedure Exchange Rotterdam UAS 22.03.2024

NOTE: We kindly ask you to forward this information to your nominated student(s) as well.

Dear Partners,

We are pleased to announce that we are accepting nominations for the Fall 2024 semester as of today. Attached you may also find our Exchange brochure and factsheet.

Note: Students who were nominated for Spring 2024 but had to postpone their exchange and want to study at Rotterdam UAS in Fall 2024 instead, need to be renominated as well. Please nominate these students as “new" students in Mobility Online.

Application procedure: important deadlines

Nominations and applications should be submitted via the online tool Mobility Online.

  1. Nomination by partner university – deadline April 15th 2024
If you have nominated students in Mobility Online before, please use the same login details as last time. If you have not nominated in Mobility Online before, please send us an email so we can send you your personal login details (one account per partner university).
  1. Online application by student – application period between April 1st and April 25th 2024
After we have approved the nomination, students will receive a registration link to access Mobility Online. All students need to complete their entire online application in Mobility Online before April 25th 2024. After this date, the online application form in Mobility Online will no longer be available and it will not be possible for students to apply for an exchange after this date.

*Partners who wish to nominate students for the Willem de Kooning Academy can send an email to wdka.international@hr.nl. They have their own nomination and application procedure.

Exchange programmes Fall 2024: course offer and admission requirements

Attached to this email you will find an overview of the exchange programmes that are offered upcoming fall semester. We kindly ask you to choose a programme in close consultation with  your nominated students; based on their study background, the specific admission requirements and also keeping in mind the partner agreement our universities have. If you have any questions about our admission requirements or in case you would like to nominate your students for another school/programme within our university than agreed, we kindly ask you to send us an email first before you nominate your student in Mobility Online.\

Important message for all partners who wish to nominate business students:

Rotterdam Business School was forced to withdraw their International Business year 3 exchange programmes. This means that as of this academic year almost all business exchange programmes are open for senior students in their final year only, except for Business & Society and Working World Wide. Exchange students are admittable for these two programmes if they have completed a minimum of 120 ECTS (4-year bachelor's degree)/60 ECTS (3-year bachelor's degree).

Student Housing

Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences is able to reserve approximately 100 furnished rooms for incoming exchange students at the largest provider of student housing SSH in the Netherlands. On June 3rd, the registration starts and on June 10th, the booking process starts for SSH housing Fall 2024. Please be aware that the booking process is on a first come, first served basis. We therefore recommend students to register themselves before the booking process starts. More information will be given in the housing webinar on May 27th. Unfortunately, there is a growing shortage of (student) accommodation in Rotterdam and the Netherlands in general. Therefore, students who wish or have to arrange housing by themselves on the private market are strongly advised to start searching as soon as they have received their official letter of acceptance from our university. Students have to be vigilant of fraudulent activities while searching on the private market. Please communicate this to your students, so they are fully aware of the housing challenges that they may face in the Netherlands.

Visa & Residence Permit

Students from all countries except EU/EEA countries and Switzerland who wish to attend an exchange programme at Rotterdam UAS for more than 3 months are obliged to obtain a residence permit. Attached to this email you will find a detailed description about our visa application procedure; including the nationalities who are obliged to obtain a visa. Our colleagues from CoIA – Student Support will start contacting the accepted students mid-May. We kindly ask you and your students to wait for this email. At this point, students don't have to start with the procedure yet.
