"Bezmialem-Sheffield Collaboration Seminars" which is organized by the International Relations Office took place in Bezmialem Vakif University on 10th-11th June 2013 at Faculty of Medicine Main Conference Hall and University Research Center.
First day of the program began with the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Saffet TÜZGEN, President of Bezmialem Vakif University. After his speech, Dr. Andrew Chee Lee from ScHARR-University of Sheffield, was invited to give the first session of his seminar on the subject of "Undergraduate Medical Education in the United Kingdom”. The second session of his seminar was on the subject of “Hospital Emergency Preparedness/Planning”.
On the second day of the program, Dr. Paul Bisnell, Director of ScHARR, gave a seminar on the subjects of “The structure of ScHARR (School of Health and Related Research) and “Identifying Areas for Collaboration”. The seminar ended with a lively question and answer session.
At the end of meetings, Officials from Bezmialem and Sheffield decided to build a sustainable collaboration consisting of joint research projects, summer programmes and Ph.D. supervision, student-staff exchange, distance learning opportunities. We are glad to add this University to our list of excellent international partners!
