Online Language Support (OLS)

In addition to German, French, Dutch, Italian, English and Spanish languages, in 2016 Czech, Danish, Greek, Polish, Portuguese and Swedish language support is also planned. Students who are carrying out their overseas mobility activities in these languages are subject to this system. However, online language support is not offered to students who will be carrying out their activities in their own native language.
Online language support includes mandatory exams and optional
online language course support:
- Mandatory Exams
Students selected to carry out learning or internship mobility, will take exams in the language of learning/internship activities on the Online Language Support system, once before and once after completing their activities.
Exams do not impact the selection of the students. The exams are conducted in order to observe the changes in language proficiency among students before and after activities. Both exams are mandatory. Deductions are made to grants of students who do not take exams in accordance with the provisions of Article 8. Force majeure conditions reserved. Mandatory OLS exams are not used as selection tools for mobility.
- Optional Language Courses
After having taken the language exam prior to starting activities, students may enter online language courses in the event they find themselves lacking according to their exam results or with the recommendation of the institution of higher education.
The language of exam and the language of course must match. Students with results C1 and above in the mandatory language exam, may benefit from online language course in the country they visit voluntarily. The duration of the language course is determined according to the duration of the activity time. Course durations for students carrying out activities between 2-6 months are 2-6 months. For students carrying out activities for longer than 6 months (up to 12 months) course durations are limited to 6 months.
