2016-2017 Erasmus+ Internship Mobility Applications
Dear Students and Dear Erasmus+ Coordinators,
For interested students, the application dates are between 02 May 2016 - 17 May 2016.
What is the Erasmus+ Internship Mobility?
Activities to be carried out under the scope of the Erasmus+ Internship Mobility will be the internship at an organization or institution overseas from the institution of higher institution at which the student is registered. Internship is the process of gaining occupational training and/or work experience at an organization or business in another country.
The Erasmus+ Internship Mobility cannot be used in order to carry out research work, analysis studies related to academic studies within the scope of a specific curriculum. Internship activities intend for the student to gain practical work experience in the area of which he is a student.
How Long Does The Erasmus+ Internship Mobility Last?
If the student wishing to participate in the internship mobility is receiving education in an associate degree, undergraduate, post graduate or doctoral program, the internship may be at least 2 months and at most 12 months.
What Characteristics Must the Internship Organizations Possess?
The organizations where students carry out their internships may be businesses, education centres, research centres or other institutions suited to the definition of an enterprise. In this context, all enterprises conducting all kinds of economic activities, including social economy, private or public institution/organization, regardless of economic industry in which they operate, their legal statuses and size are considered suited.
If the organization at which the internship will take place is not an institution of higher education it will be considered an enterprise, and there will be no requirement for the Erasmus+ University Charter. However, students applying must obtain approval of the organization they will visit from their coordinators.
Which Organizations Are Not Suitable For Erasmus+ Internship?
- European Union institutions and EU agencies,
- Organizations carrying out EU programs and receiving grants in this context,
- Our national diplomatic representatives at the guest country,
- International branches of local companies in Turkey.
Who Can Benefit From Erasmus+ Internship Mobility?
Full time associate degree, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students (including those to graduate during the 2016-2017 Academic Year) at an institute of higher education can benefit from the Erasmus+ internship mobility. Minimum academic average required to benefit from the program:
- Associate Degree and Undergraduate students having a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.20/4.00
- Undergraduate students having a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50/4.00
**Candidates specialising in the Medical/Dentistry Faculty may apply using their TUS/DUS certificate and a document showing that they are currently specialising in the relevant faculty.
 Foreign Language Exam Procedures Required For Erasmus+ Program
As 50% of the grade point average and 50% of foreign language score is considered during the selection of students for Erasmus+ internship mobility, students applying to benefit from the program are required to have a foreign language test result certificate. Accepted exams: TOEFL IBT (min. 75), IELTS (min. 6) and YDS (min. 60).
An English exam is offered to Erasmus+ students at the Bezmialem Foundation University Foreign Languages Department. However, students applying to benefit from the program are required to enter the foreign language exams at the places and dates announced in the application period.
Erasmus+ Internship Mobility Grants
Erasmus+ grant is provided by the National Agency via the European Commission. Erasmus+ grants can be allocated to the number of students as allowed by the budget allocated to our University by the National Agency for the 2016-2017 academic year. Students may become Erasmus students without grants should they wish. However, it is necessary to have applied and been ranked.
