Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences has announced the start of the student nomination and application process for the Spring 2027 exchange programs.
While various academic options are offered within the scope of the exchange programs published by the university, students are required to select their target program based on their academic background, specific admission requirements, and existing bilateral agreements between universities.
Important Application Dates
Partner University Nomination:
- Deadline: October 15, 2026
- Student nominations will be conducted via the Mobility Online system.
- Partner universities that have previously used Mobility Online can log in with their existing credentials.
- Partner universities using the system for the first time must contact Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences to receive their personal login details.
Student Online Application:
- October 1 – October 25, 2026
- Students nominated and approved by partner universities will receive a registration link to access the Mobility Online system.
- Students must complete their online applications and submit all required documents in full by October 25, 2026. Applications cannot be submitted via the system after this date.
- Students are strongly advised not to leave their applications to the last day. The application period also includes any corrections requested after the university reviews submitted documents.
Spring 2027 Exchange Programs
Details regarding exchange programs offered for the Spring 2027 semester and their admission requirements have been shared with partner universities.
Students must select their programs based on:
- Their academic background,
- Specific admission requirements of the program,
- Existing bilateral agreement between the universities.
If a nomination is intended for a faculty or program not included in the bilateral agreement, partner universities must contact Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences before nominating the student in Mobility Online.
Student Accommodation
Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences reserves approximately 100 furnished rooms for incoming exchange students through SSH, one of the leading student housing providers in the Netherlands.
For the Spring 2027 semester:
- November 18, 2026: SSH accommodation registration opens.
- November 25, 2026: Room reservation process begins.
Housing reservations are managed on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, students are advised to complete their registration before the room booking process opens.
Additionally, a housing webinar will be held at the beginning of November to provide students with more detailed information.
Due to an increasing student housing shortage in Rotterdam and across the Netherlands, students seeking private accommodation are advised to start searching as soon as possible after receiving their official acceptance letter (mid-November).
Visa and Residence Permit
Non-EU/EEA and non-Swiss citizens participating in an exchange program at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences for longer than 3 months are required to obtain a residence permit.
This requirement applies according to the student's nationality, regardless of the country in which they currently study.
Students must prove they have sufficient financial resources to cover their living expenses in the Netherlands. The required amount is set at €1,131 for each month of study.
Financial sufficiency can be proven using one of the following methods:
- Bank transfer to the university's bank account,
- An official document proving a grant/scholarship award.
Accepted exchange students will receive detailed information regarding visa and residence permit steps, as well as required documents, from the Student Support team in mid-November.
Important Note Students who were previously nominated for the Fall 2026 semester but deferred their exchange to Spring 2027 must be renominated. These students must be nominated as a "new student" in the Mobility Online system.
