First; Working, studying is a pace that will never end and the daily rules because our work is not limited to within doors of the institutions we work in. Secondly; possessing high communication skills. A physician must possess a high level of empathy. They should be able to communicate well with the patient and their relatives, use a motivating language and be able to act appropriately. Third is the ability to tolerate uncertainty. It is necessary to be ready to be a decision maker in a world where information can always change and sometimes be uncertain. The fourth and most important is to have compassion and conscience. A physician should also have the ability to understand the pain and sorrow of patients and their relatives and to approach them with compassion. He must be able to touch the hearts of people and alleviate suffering with their human qualities, even in the most difficult situations. The most vividly lived situation is currently what we are all going thorugh together today!"

I would like to express my happiness to be with you, our esteemed physicians, who are based on a distinguished and deep-rooted past as Bezmialem Vakıf University, who put human life above everything else, who work devotedly despite all difficult conditions, and to share the enthusiasm of the Medicine Day. It was celebrated by medical students to protest the occupation of Istanbul, which was under occupation in 1937. March 14 has been officially celebrated as the Medicine Day in our country since 1937. It is actually a great honor for us that there is no such holiday in any other country in the world.
