Transplantation Meetings-2: "Transplantation and Infection-1" Session Held 4/24/2026

The second of the Transplantation Meetings organized by our university was successfully held under the title "Transplantation and Infection-1." Bringing together our academics and expert colleagues under the participation of our Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Akçakaya, the meeting went beyond the surgical dimension of organ transplantation and addressed the comprehensive management of the post-transplant process.

Organ transplantation is not limited to surgical success alone; it is a comprehensive process that requires careful follow-up in the post-transplant period, effective management of infectious complications, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The meeting was shaped around this very understanding and brought together current knowledge with direct implications for clinical practice.

The program covered pre-transplant vaccination protocols and early post-transplant prophylaxis approaches. Current management protocols for viral infections were reviewed, while sessions in which different teams shared their clinical experiences formed a significant part of the program.

Our specialist academics and physicians also shared their knowledge and clinical experience with our students during the meeting. These exchanges offered aspiring young physicians in the field of transplantation a valuable, practice-oriented perspective.

We plan to continue this meeting series in the coming period, with the goal of contributing to clinical practice in the field of transplantation. We extend our gratitude to all session chairs, speakers, and participants who contributed to the program.
