Bezmialem Foundation University joyfully and proudly bid farewell to its graduates of the 2024–2025 academic year with ceremonies held on July 7–8, 2025. The ceremonies, hosted at the Fatih Campus, drew significant attendance from Chairman of the Board of Trustees Av. Osman Develioğlu, Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Akçakaya, faculty members, students, families, and distinguished protocol guests.
This year, the university celebrated the graduation of the 10th cohort of the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry, and the 11th cohort of the Faculties of Pharmacy, Health Sciences, and the Vocational School of Health Services. Graduates from nine undergraduate, fourteen associate degree programs, and the university’s institutes crowned their educational journeys by tossing their caps into the air.
Develioğlu: “Conscience Is the Strongest Asset of This Profession”
In his address, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Av. Osman Develioğlu emphasized that healthcare professions must be practiced not only with knowledge but also with a strong sense of conscience:
“Being a good physician or healthcare professional requires more than scientific expertise; it demands upholding the dignity of humanity. Conscience is the strongest asset of this profession.”
Drawing attention to the ongoing human tragedy in Palestine, Develioğlu underlined that targeting healthcare workers contradicts the ethical spirit of the profession. Addressing the graduates, he added: “Always be the voice of truth, justice, and humanity.”
Akçakaya: “Marching Towards the Future with Knowledge and Conscience”
Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Akçakaya highlighted the pride of sending off hundreds of graduates from various faculties and departments as the university approaches its 15th anniversary. Speaking on international collaborations, academic achievements, and the university’s growing scientific productivity, Akçakaya remarked:
“Bezmialem continues to train healthcare professionals who place conscience, justice, and science at the heart of their work. We firmly believe our graduates will be a source of hope for humanity.”
Professional Oaths and Meaningful Support
Graduates from each faculty took their professional oaths under the guidance of their academic mentors, marking the first step of their journey to serve humanity. The banner displayed by the medical graduates in support of Palestine added a poignant moral stance to the ceremony, earning heartfelt applause from attendees.

Many esteemed guests joined families and faculty in celebrating this milestone, including Fatih Mayor Mehmet Ergün Turan, Deputy Mayor Mehmet Özçelik, General Director of Turkish Border and Coastal Health Osman Kan, Istanbul Provincial Director of Population and Citizenship Rabia Babaoğlu, and Hafız Mustafa 1864 company owner Avni Ongun, alongside Chairman of the Board of Trustees Av. Osman Develioğlu, Rector Prof. Dr. Adem Akçakaya, and General Secretary Dr. Zeynep Görmezoğlu.
