On September 30, the “Health and Education Workshop," organized by Bezmialem Vakıf University's Continuing Education Center (SEM) and hosted by Başakşehir Municipality, was held with the aim of developing socially responsible projects in the fields of health and education and strengthening sustainable collaborations with local governments.
The program began with a reception of the delegation by Başakşehir Mayor Yasin Kartoğlu in his office, followed by a token of appreciation presented by Prof. Dr. Teoman Aydın, Vice Dean of Bezmialem Vakıf University Faculty of Medicine and Director of SEM. Mayor Kartoğlu emphasized the significance of the workshop, underlining the critical role that local governments play in contributing to health and education within society. He also highlighted that such initiatives, reinforced through academic partnerships, bring about valuable outcomes both regionally and nationally.
The workshop brought together faculty members from Bezmialem Vakıf University's Faculty of Health Sciences, hospital administration, representatives from the Corporate Communications and Economic Enterprise Directorate, nursing services, and numerous staff members, all of whom reflected the university's strong institutional expertise in health and education.
Health and Education Workshop: A Strong Step Toward Social Responsibility and Sustainable Partnerships
Throughout the workshop, discussions centered on social responsibility projects in health, sustainable collaborations in education, and the contributions of local governments. Participants shared best practices from ongoing projects and engaged in group work aimed at developing new opportunities for cooperation.
As part of the program, a technical field visit organized by Başakşehir Municipality enabled participants to observe urban-focused projects on site. In particular, the visit to the Başakşehir Living Lab drew attention with its technology- and innovation-oriented practices. Participants also had the chance to exchange insights while observing the municipality's initiatives.
The workshop not only reinforced Bezmialem Vakıf University's deep-rooted legacy and vision of contributing to public health but also provided a solid foundation for sustainable partnerships to support future projects.
