Our Faculty of Medicine, which was accepted into the accreditation process, undertook the first of informative meetings held by the Association of Evaluation and Accreditation of Medical Education Programs (TEPDAP) and the National Accreditation of Medical Education Accreditation (UTEAK).
Our rector Prof. Dr. Rümeyza Kazancıoğlu, Assistant rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Tuncay, Rector Consultant Prof. Dr. Erdal Tekarslan, Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Dilek Sema Arıcı, Health Sciences Institute Manager Prof. Dr. Semra Özçelik, Faculty of Medicine Assistant Dean Prof. Dr. Kazım Karaaslan and Prof. Dr. Alpay Alkan, Heads of Departments, Academicians and Medical Students from our University participated at the event.
At the event where TEPDAD Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. İskender Sayek carried out an informative presentation, Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Dilek Sema Arıcı commented, "Accreditation is a must in order for the education of the medical faculties to be more standardized, of high quality and sustainable. This process, which is a necessary step in order to provide integrity and provide good education, is our primary goal since the first day".
In his informative presentation speech, TEPDAD Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. Iskender Sayek stated, "Medical education has recently become a study area with very well-defined frameworks, well-defined methods, research and self-publications. Sometimes accreditation is a long and difficult, bumpy road where you need to go back to the very beginning. Besides the difficulty of the process, the end of the tunnel is bright because the purpose is to improve the quality of the medical education and to improve it further.
