Nursing Week Celebrations were held at our University.
Our rector Prof. Dr. Rümeyza Kazancıoğlu, assistant rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim Tuncay, General Secretary Zeynep Gökçen, Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Dilek Sema Arıcı, Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Ahmet Belce, Hospital Medical Director Prof. Dr. Fadlullah Aksoy, Head of Nursing Department Prof. Dr. Türkinaz Aştı, our executives, academicians, nurses and students attended the event which was held at our Deanship Conference Hall.
The program started with the national anthem and a stand in silence. Our rector Prof. Dr. Rumeyza Kazancıoğlu continued with the opening speeches; "Nursing is one of the first professions of human history among other health professions, and nursing is always crucial in order for people to continue their lives and lead a healthy and fine life. Therefore this ancient profession which is as old as human history has been attributed with sacredness. This profession is based on patience, ingenuity and tolerance, and our nurses who have an individual relationship with each other have a great role especially in directing the treatment process. Therefore everyone; from the doctor to the nurse who serves in the health field is very precious and valuable . Our Founder Bezmialem Valide Sultan has always been beside the poor and needy and has played a great role in developing the foundation culture. For about two centuries, nurses have a great right in continuing the Bezmialem tradition which says "Health first!". You, our nurses, continue to provide this charity and tradition with your smile , your healing, your mercy and compassion."
Our General Secretary Zeynep Gökçen stated in her speech, "I congratulate all of our nurses who perform this blessed profession and celebrate the Nurses Week. The nurses who accomplish this sacred profession at Bezmialem Vakıf University in the most successful manner have become one of the locomotives and the cornerstones of this institution. Situated within our constitution, at the Bezmialem Vakıf University Dragos Hospital, our nurses are working hard to provide health care services. " said.
Our Hospital Medical Director Prof. Dr. Fadlullah Aksoy, "We represent a family; from the doctor to the nurse, from the technician to security staff. In this family, the sacred duty that our nurses undertake can not be denied. I congratulate all of our nurses' week and wish them success in their profession."
The program ended after conferences on the History of Nursing, Health Care in Preventive Health Services, Women's Health, Children's Health and Rights.
