In the event “Peritoneal Dialysis Today While Pushing the Boundaries" held at our university, important information was shared about peritoneal dialysis, a current method in kidney diseases, and case presentations were made.
The event “Peritoneal Dialysis Today While Pushing the Boundaries" was held at our university with the participation of academicians, physicians and healthcare personnel. Prof. Ferruh Artunç from the Department of Internal Medicine, Nephrology Department of Tübingen University Hospital and the Nephrology Department of Sindelfingen Education and Research Hospital participated as a speaker in the event. Our Rector Prof. Rümeyza Kazancıoğlu, who made the opening speech of the event, emphasized that peritoneal dialysis is a current method used in kidney diseases and thanked Prof. Ferruh Artunç for sharing his knowledge and experience on this subject.
Prof. Ferruh Artunç started his speech by saying that he was very pleased to be at Bezmialem Vakıf University again after a two-year break. Describing peritoneal dialysis as a treatment method applied by patients at home, Ferruh Artunç drew attention to the fact that peritoneal dialysis has not become widespread in Turkey compared to home dialysis and said: “Peritoneal dialysis has many advantages, but it has not become widespread due to some limitations." Prof. Ferruh Artunç also presented case examples in his speech.
