The Bezmiâlem Vakıf University (BVU) Drug Application and Research Center (ILMER) was established under the Rectorate of Bezmiâlem Vakıf University by the decision of our University Senate on July 11, 2018. Its establishment was subsequently approved during the Executive Board meeting of the Council of Higher Education on August 29, 2018. The center focuses on areas such as drug discovery, generic medicines, enhanced pharmaceutical products, and biotechnological drugs. It fosters extensive collaboration and research opportunities with scientists from our university and around the world, aiming to expand these partnerships further. BVU ILMER strives to become a strategic partner in innovative production and product development projects for the pharmaceutical industry. Many BVU faculty members from the Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology are conducting advanced research. With this expertise, the Bezmiâlem Vakıf University Drug Application and Research Center is committed to making significant contributions to pharmaceutical research for the benefit of both Turkey and global health.
The center provides pharmacists, chemists, medical doctors, veterinarians, biologists, and especially graduate students and researchers with opportunities to gain in-depth knowledge and experience. Topics include drug discovery, drug development processes, preclinical studies, new drug formulations, generic and equivalent medicines, value-added products, biotechnological drugs, and medical devices. At our center, our master’s and doctoral students—particularly those enrolled in the "Drug Discovery and Development," "Pharmacognosy and Natural Products Chemistry," and "Biotechnology" programs—can leverage its facilities, equipment, and infrastructure to prepare their theses. This enables them to begin their professional careers with advanced expertise and qualifications.
