The Department of Health Management, founded in 2013-2014 with a quota of 30 students, trains healthcare managers at high standards with its qualified academic staff and comprehensive curriculum designed to meet the demands of both national and international health institutions. Following an optional one-year English language preparation education, the department provides a four-year bachelor's degree program. The eight-semester course plan structured as a dual system consists of general health sciences courses alongside introductory course in business administration, including business management, programming, artificial intelligence, computing, cost control and analysis, health financing, business law, and a graduation project focused on enhancing the sustainability of healthcare organizations and services. Besides, in their senior year, students are required to participate in a professional practice program based on a rotation in all hospital departments at Bezmiâlem Vakıf University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.
Graduates of the Department of Health Management can pursue their careers in the constantly evolving health sector or various other sectors and attain managerial positions. Our graduates commence their professional careers in health institutions as either “healthcare managers" or “health institutions executives." Based on these designations, graduates would hold medium to high-level positions in various domains, such as planning, organizing, and executing tasks in healthcare institutions, supplying essential staff and equipment to different departments, preparing budgets, and calculating the expenses for patient care services. Health management graduates can find employment in a wide range of sectors, primarily public and private healthcare institutions, as well as pharmaceutical and healthcare technology companies, health tourism enterprises, data analytics firms, and medical device suppliers. Furthermore, our alumni have the potential to climb their career ladder for managerial roles in diverse sectors, including informatics, media, and education.
