Asst. Prof. Ab. Matteen Rafiqi, PhD is a globally renowned evolutionary developmental biologist and the first international faculty member to join BILSAB. A steadfast believer in the scientific and academic mission of the institute, Dr. Rafiqi has helped build a vibrant and international academic environment. His work focuses on eco-evo-devo and developmental endosymbiosis, exploring how organisms integrate genetic, ecological, and endosymbiont inputs to drive evolution. His mentorship has also played a central role in shaping the academic and research ethos of BILSAB.
