Bezmialem Vakıf Üniversitesi Toplumsal Fırsat Eşitliği, Aile ve Kadın Çalışmalarına ilişkin;

  • Toplum içinde yer alan ancak uzun süre görmezden gelindiği için dezavantajlı konuma düşen ve özel olarak korunması gereken gruplarla; ilk etapta da çocuklar, gençler, yaşlılar, engelliler, göçmenler, azınlıklar, kadınlar, tek ebeveynli aileler ve yoksullarla ilgilenmeyi birinci amaç olarak görür,
  • Toplum ve aile bireylerinin sağlıklı olması için çalışır,
  • Herkese fırsat eşitliği sağlar,
  • Fırsat eşitliğinin yanında, toplumda özel gereksinimli, yaşlı ve çocuk gibi ihmal edilen veya görmezden gelinen bireylere karşı anlayış ve empati kültürü oluşturur,
  • Yaşlı ve çocukların karşılaştıkları sorunların en aza indirilmesi ve yaşam kalitelerinin sürdürülebilir bir şekilde iyileştirilmesi amacıyla sosyal ve ekonomik alanlarda etkin işleyen kurumsal mekanizmaları tesis eder,
  • Yükseköğrenimde fırsat eşitliği ve ayrımcılıkla mücadeleyi artırmak amacıyla çalışmalar yapar,
  • Üniversite'de her türlü toplumsal ayrımcılık ve şiddetin önlenmesine ilişkin farkındalık ve duyarlılık kazanılması için çalışmalar yapar,
  • Cinsiyete dayalı şiddet, cinsel taciz ve cinsel saldırı şikayetleri için gizlilik ilkesini önceleyen etkin bir başvuru, destek ve disiplin mekanizması işletir,
  • Kadınların ekonomik hayata daha çok katılmalarını sağlamak amacıyla kadın istihdamı ve girişimciliğinin desteklenmesini, kadının ekonomik alanda varlığını, katkısını, etkinliğini artırıcı çalışmalar yapar,
  • Üniversitedeki eğitimin adaletli ve herkes için fırsat eşitliği anlayışıyla verilmesine, eğitim kaynaklarının, araştırma ve yayınların adalet ilkesiyle sürdürülmesine katkıda bulunur,
  • Aile kurumunun içinde bulunduğu sosyal, kültürel ve çevresel faktörler etrafında, değişen dinamikleri ve ailenin içinde bulunduğu döngüleri dikkate alarak bütüncül bir yaklaşımla aileyi değerlendirir ve aile bütünlüğüne dair güncel, uygulanabilir çözüm önerileri sunar,
  • Ülke genelinde yapılan aile yapısını güçlendirici, refah ve bütünlüğünü koruyucu çalışmalara katkı sağlar.

Regarding Bezmialem Vakıf University Social Equal Opportunity, Family and Women's Studies;

  • Bezmialem Vakıf University prioritizes attending to the disadvantaged groups that have long been overlooked within society and require special protection, including children, young people, the elderly, people with disabilities, immigrants, minorities, women, single-parent families, and the poor in the first place,
  • Works towards the health and well-being of both society and family members,
  • Focuses on equitable access to healthcare and social services, addressing gender-specific health risks and needs to ensure services that cater specifically to these needs, promoting comprehensive and accessible care for all,
  • Provides equal opportunities to everyone by implementing policies that actively promote gender equality, prevent discrimination, and support a diverse and inclusive environment,
  • Fosters a culture of understanding and empathy towards neglected individuals, such as those with special needs, the elderly, and children, alongside promoting equal opportunities,
  • Establishes effective institutional mechanisms in social and economic domains to minimize the challenges faced by the elderly and children and to sustainably improve their quality of life,
  • Endeavors to promote equal opportunities and the fight against discrimination in higher education, creating a learning environment where individuals from all backgrounds are valued, respected, and provided with equal opportunities to excel,   
  • Contributes to the provision of education at the university fairly and with the understanding of equal opportunity for everyone, and to the maintenance of educational resources, research and publications with the principle of justice,
  • Aims to raise awareness and sensitivity regarding the prevention of all kinds of social discrimination and violence on campus,
  • Applies an effective system for handling complaints about gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and sexual assault, emphasizing the principle of confidentiality,
  • Facilitates greater participation of women in the economic sphere by supporting women's employment and entrepreneurship, enhancing their presence, contributions, and effectiveness in the economic domain, striving to dismantle stereotypes and expand career pathways for all genders,
  • Emphasizes the inclusion and advancement of women's participation and leadership in technology and digital skills, fostering an environment that empowers the next generation of women leaders and contributes to a more equitable digital future,
  • Takes a holistic view of family and community support, considering the varying needs and dynamics of family structures in today's society, provides resources and support systems tailored for employees and students with family responsibilities, facilitating an inclusive environment that nurtures both academic and familial commitments, promoting a balanced and inclusive community,
  • Contributes to nationwide efforts aimed at strengthening family structures, maintaining welfare, and preserving unity across the country,
  • It establishes and strengthens institutional frameworks to support gender equality at every level, conducting regular data collection and monitoring of gender equality indicators, assessing progress, and adjusting strategies to meet inclusivity goals, while also contributing to the provision of education at the University with a commitment to justice and equal opportunity for all, and maintaining educational resources, research, and publications based on the principle of justice.
