The Faculty of Dentistry under Bezmialem Vakıf University was founded in 2010. The school started to educate undergraduate students with a total of 30 enrollments during the 2010 - 2011 academic term and since then, serves in 8 major disciplines. Formal education of dentistry, which covers a five years academic program, consists of basic medical sciences and theoretical and practical classes focused on the profession of dentistry for the first 3 years and of internship and clinical education schemes at 4th and 5th years, in addition to these classes. In our country, including a first, the students attending our School will attend at clinics as observers and oral hygiene tutors as per recommendation of the European Association of Dental Education (EADE), from grade 1 and will receive both theoretical and practical training on emergency medical intervention, repeated each year.
Internship programs and courses on clinical sciences in 8 departments consisting of “Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery”, “Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology”, “Pedodontics (Children’s dentistry)”, “Endodontics”, “Orthodontics”, “Periodontology”, “Prosthodontics”, “Restorative Dentistry” will be carried out at the Faculty of Dentistry found inside the main campus, which is located on Vatan Street.
