Since dentistry education takes five years, dentistry faculty graduates are considered to have a master's degree graduates and can directly start doctoral programs. This program aims to provide a theoretical and practical education process within the scope of prosthodontics and to collect information on subjects related to the department, conduct research and express this in a scientific way. The theoretical and practical training that students receive in the pre-qualification period covers a wide range from the loss of a single part of a tooth to the restoration of serious losses in maxillofacial tissues. The restorations include inlay and onlay restorations, laminate veneers, crown and bridge prostheses, removable partial dentures, complete dentures, obturators and implant-supported applications and planning of these prostheses, temporomandibular joint disorders and the appliances used in their treatment. Diagnosis and treatment processes related to the construction of these appliances, the materials used, and the prognosis and maintenance of these prostheses are included in the doctoral program education. Students who have achieved sufficient knowledge and skills learn the treatment processes well enough to conduct research on the development of these applications. During their doctoral thesis or other research, students learn how to access current information, gather it together and draw conclusions, plan a scientific study, complete this research with determination, and then present the data obtained in a scientific way and interpret it.
