Seminar Course is carried out with the aim of improving the student's ability to explain a selected topic and speak in public. The course takes place in both master's and doctoral programs. The student determines the seminar topic with his/her advisor within the first two weeks of the course period. The seminar prepared is presented to the advisor until the end of the sixth week of the semester. After corrections, if necessary, suggested by the advisor are completed, seminar is made ready for presentation. Seminar presentations are done open to academic staff between the 8th and 14th weeks of the semester.
Announcement of the Seminar
After Seminar Announcement Form is filled out by the presenter and his/her advisor, it is forwarded to the Secretariat of the Institute by the related department chair at least two weeks before the presentation date. A seminar announcement is made on the Institute's website and dashboards one week before the date of the presentation.
Duration of the Seminar
The time allocated for the seminar should be at least 30 minutes. It is recommended that the presentation should not exceed 45 minutes including questions and answers section.
Evaluation of the Seminar
Advisor of the student and two faculty members from the related department evaluate the seminar presentation as successful or unsuccessful. They fill out and sign the Seminar Evaluation Form and forward it to the related department chair. The advisor is obliged to enter the evaluation result through the student information system until the deadline determined for the grade entries of the final exams.
