Our department is one of the most successful of the branches in our country besides undergraduate education of our university's dental school on the basis of modern and scientific principles in the light of current information.
Since the day of its establishment, the treatment of patients with dental and skeletal orthodontic problems in our clinic has been performed routinely with our academic staff. Treatment of patients with hypercholesterolemic jaw disorder is performed as an interdisciplinary treatment with orthognathic surgery. If there is no circumstance in which adult treatment can be prevented without the age limit, Orthodontic treatment is carried out as a multidisciplinary branch with the branches of the relevant specialists. Orthodontic treatment methods such as lingual orthodontics or transparent plate treatments are also applied in our clinic. Internationally accepted protocols and practices in patient care are taken as reference standards.
Our research and development activities are continuing in our department in order to contribute to the literature of Orthodontics with scientific studies as well as education-training and patient treatments. In addition, to support scientific development, scientific research projects supported by national universities and national institutions are being planned and carried out.
Our clinic, Faculty of Dentistry B Block is located on the second floor and consists of 22 dental units. The plans of the patients applying to Orthodontics Department are done every week in our meeting room with the participation of all our doctors and lecturers at case meetings routinely and detailed treatment plan is decided for each patient. However, in our department there is an analysis laboratory where the patient's treatment records and computer analyzes are made, the Orthodontics laboratory where the appliances are made, and the imaging room where patient photographs are taken.
Theoretical and practical specialist / doctoral courses are provided every week in order to train physicians who have high-level professional knowledge in our dentistry within the scope of specialization / doctoral education in Dentistry. They are planned for the fall and summer periods and continue throughout the whole training period.
Specialist and Ph.D. students attend weekly case schedules where patient plans are made and develop diagnostic and treatment planning skills in detail at these meetings. Our specialists and doctoral students in our department follow the current orthodontic literature with weekly article discussions and seminar presentations. In addition, examination and surgery planning of patients who will have orthognathic surgery for a certain number of days a week are performed by discussing with the lecturers of the relevant expertise in our clinic together with the patient.
